Participant of the Great Patriotic War since June 1941.

Gunner of the T tank gun-34-76 4-Komsomol Senior Sergeant I. T. Lyubushkin distinguished himself on October 6, 1941 in the battle at hill 217.8 (near the village of First Warrior of the Mtsensk district of the Orel region), when the Soviet troops met with the main forces of the powerful tank group of Guderian. *Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of October 10, 1941 "for exemplary performance of command assignments at the front against the Nazi invaders and displaying courage and heroism" senior Sergeant Lyubushkina Ivan Timofeevich was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union. *At the age of 24, tank commander Ivan Timofeyevich Lyubushkin died a brave death in battle on June 30, 1942 for the village of Muravsky Shlyakh (near the city of Livny) on the Bryansk Front. The participant of that battle is the battalion commander A. A. Raftopullo wrote in his book: In total, on the combat account of I. T. Lyubushkin, 20 destroyed enemy tanks and self-propelled guns. *Buried in a mass grave No. 46 in the village of Rostani Livensky district, Oryol region. There is a sculpture of a warrior with a naked head, as well as a memorial plate with the names of the victims. Memory *One of the streets of the city of Livna and Sergievskaya Secondary School of the Muchkapsky district of the Tambov region are named after I. T. Lyubushkin. The school has created a museum, where materials about the pupil of the school are collected. * By order of the 1st Guards Tank Brigade No. 073 of May 7, 1943, he was posthumously enlisted in the brigade's personnel lists.
